Essential Wound Management for Veterinary Nurses recaps knowledge to support decision making, building confidence in Veterinary Nurses to get better results and champion wound management clinics in practice.

The course is designed to empower the RVN to manage cases, make plans for managing the case in the future as well as adapting to change.

Wounds are a continuous part of working in veterinary practice whether they are surgical incisions created by us or accidental wounds that lead to huge deficits of tissue or muscle.

Management comprises of several methods and techniques. Which method or technique will depend on a RVN, and a veterinary surgeon working together to treat and care for the case within the limits of the practice and the client?

Understanding best practice for wound healing and management will allow the RVN to advise the veterinary surgeon as to the best approach to take for their patient.

Wound management varies case by case however the underlying principles remain the same. Knowing how the animals body heals supports decision making to get to the end result faster.

This enables the RVN to manage cases, make plans for managing the case in future as well as adapting to change.
