Course Overview

This comprehensive course will give you all the information you need for collection, handling and cytological examination of body fluids in dogs and cats, from cavitary effusions (pleural, pericardial, and peritoneal), to synovial fluids, tracheal washes (TWs) / bronchoalveolar lavages (BALs), cerebrospinal fluids (CSFs) and urines.

Clinical case challenges and diagnostic algorithms will also be provided to help you understand the concepts presented and to consolidate your knowledge.

Module 1. Cavitary effusions (pleural, pericardial, peritoneal)
Module 2. Urinalysis
Module 3. Tracheal washes (TWs) / bronchoalveolar lavages (BALs)
Module 4. Synovial fluids
Module 5. Cerebrospinal fluids (CSFs)
Module 6. Cytology cases

Course format

This course runs over a three week period and takes about 8 hours to complete. The course is composed of a series of modules, with each module containing a webinar, notes to download and keep, plus clinical cases to test your understanding. There is a busy course forum where you can ask the tutor questions and debate topics relevant to your daily practice.

At the end of the three week period, you retain access to the course for a further 11 months, giving you unlimited access for a full year in total! All courses are completed with an MCQ exam, giving you 8 Hours of CPD.
